Wyland Clean Water Tour launches in New York April 18, 2006The New York Aquarium hosted the launch of the Wyland Clean Water Tour on April 5th. Press from local television, newspaper, and radio were on-site with New York Aquarium director Paul Boyle, World renowned marine-life artist Wyland, and New York Council Member Domenic Recchia.
After Earth Day celebrations in New York, the Wyland Clean Water Tour will travel to informal learning institutions throughout North America for 10 day visits. Opportunities to participate are available.
The Wyland Clean Water Tour is a front line effort to empower one million people across North America with the knowledge to become caring, informed stewards of our waterways and the animals that depend on those waterways. The tour translates knowledge into action through the “Art in Action” letter writing and painting campaign and Commitment Kiosk. Each letter written and painting completed by tour participants will proactively support clean water legislation. Pledges made at the Commitment Kiosk directly translate into measurable impacts on local watersheds.
