One of the least known habitats on earth, the rainforest is full of mystery – just like Rainforest Adventure. Filled with the sights and sounds of the rainforest and teeming with biodiversity, visitors descend through the four layers of the rainforest! Swing like a Spider monkey! Discover a rodent that weighs over a hundred pounds and a beetle that can carry over 850 times its own weight… that’s like you or me carrying 25 cars!
Rainforest Adventure nurtures an intimate relationship with this natural treasure while empowering visitors to make a difference..
FEATURES: Goals
Demonstrate diversity found across the four layers of the rainforest – its similarities, differences, and abundance

Overview
Rainforest Adventure engages visitors in the story of the rainforest, reveals its incredible yet fragile biodiversity, while instilling a conservation ethic.
Visitors begin their journey in the highest treetops surrounded by migratory birds and radiant sunlight. In an effort to reach the forest floor, they answer questions about the rainforest. Incorrect answers lead to dead-ends while correct answers lead them deeper into the four layers of the rainforest: emergent, canopy, understory and forest floor.
Each layer features an experience gallery which grows progressively darker, mimicking tangled green layers of leaves, vines, fruits and flowering plants that filter natural light in the rainforest. The experience galleries give visitors an opportunity to swing from the highest branch, help birds migrate across thousands of miles, and create a root structure to support the tallest trees in the shallowest soil.
After successfully navigating the maze and reaching the forest floor, visitors land in the Biosphere Reserve. Here, through hands-on interactives and interpretive panels, they learn not only how the rainforest impacts their life, but how their life impacts the rainforest.
Interactives
Species Diversity Puzzle: Can you help these creatures find their home? Solve the puzzle by placing the 16 species in their correct habitat strata on the rainforest mural. Fosters awareness of interconnectedness and biodiversity.
Species Scavenger Hunt: Go on a rainforest quest! Look for rainforest animals hidden throughout the maze in the four layers: emergent, canopy, under story and forest floor.
Migratory Bird Maze: Help migratory birds make the incredible journey from winter resting grounds to summer nesting grounds. Fosters awareness of interconnectedness, biodiversity and conservation.
Buttress Root Building: Witness the engineering genius of nature by seeing how a 100ft tall tree can stand in 18 inches of soil. Learn how buttress roots make all the difference. Fosters awareness of interconnectedness, biodiversity, conservation, and sustainability.
Brachiation Station: Get into the swing of things! Do you have the strength, grace and timing to swing like a spider monkey and other primates? Fosters awareness of biodiversity, empathy.
Squeeze & Sniff: Many products we use every day come from the rainforest. Can you tell these rainforest products by smell? Find out if your nose knows. Fosters awareness of sustainability, conservation, interconnectedness, and biodiversity.
Donation Station: Drop a coin into a pachinko machine…your coin becomes a raindrop trying to reach the forest floor. If it makes it, you get your coin back but if it doesn’t, like most water in the rainforest, your coin becomes a donation to an organization that supports rainforest conservation.
